Billie Jo Aasen

President, Talent Buyer

Billie Jo Aasen, 542 Entertainment President

With over a decade of experience in producing live music events, Billie Jo Aasen is the Founder and Creative Director of 542 Entertainment (Inc.). Established in 2013, 542 Entertainment is a boutique Talent Buying and Turnkey Festival Events Company that offers a unique hands-on approach to creating and managing festivals. For the same fee a typical agency charges for booking talent, 542 Entertainment will assign a representative to consult on all aspects of an event, including booking talent, doing site visits and even managing backstage.

Starting her career in festivals at the age of 18, and eventually building her own festival from the ground up at 23, Aasen knows what it’s like to take a risk. Her unconventional ‘get it done’ attitude has provided her with an organic education and extensive knowledge of the festival industry. With a core belief in building strong relationships alongside successful events, Aasen has quickly become known as a mover and shaker within the music industry.

“I created 542 because I saw a gap in the market; I knew it was something the festival industry needed. Having experienced taking big risks before, I understand first-hand the kind of pressure it creates, and know that the key to success lies in having the right team. Our slogan, ‘We are not an agent on the line, we are your partner in the trenches’ pretty much sums us up. You succeed, we succeed.”

Aasen currently splits her time between Vancouver BC and Nashville TN, but with her thumb always on the pulse of every up and coming artist and team, you can find her searching for the next “big one”.
